The Pontiac Street Performance Forum: Shutting Down

Post by Admin »

It's almost a year since the new PSP was created and published to the world. The new forum is a failure.

Too few enthusiasts have registered and fewer yet have participated in the past 10-12 months. More importantly, the BB format has been nothing but difficult for me to master and solving registration problems has been a nightmare. The good folks around the world have found the forum and have targeted it to register with their fool usernames, bogus email addresses, and all of this has been a thorn in my side. Thinking that the problem was solved for the past 5 months, the actual outcome was a total shutdown--registration was closed--not what was intended. It is open again, and within hours of the "door" being reopened, I've deleted over 130 bogus wannabe registrants. So, I am notifying my host server representative that the board will be closed and removed. I am not going to fund it anymore or spend my time trying to make things work.

It was a decent run for the past 22 or so years. Lots of good information has been passed along about our Pontiacs. It helped to keep our Pontiacs part of our lives.

Sorry to hear Bill but understandable. If you guys like Firebirds and want to stay in touch you can go over to Trans Am Country, I don't know of any Pontiac forums, I think this may have been the last one.

I've been there for years under the same handle name.

My hosting service subscription ends on 22 May 2021. This will be the last day of the forum. If there's information anyone needs they can copy and past into a document and save it for later reference.

To all of those who have continually frequented the PSP forums since 1999, thanks for participating. It's been a fun journey.

Bill,

This board was always a huge help - especially 21 years ago when I first purchased my Lemans.

I am sorry to see it go but totally understand.

Thank you for all your years of hard work - always appreciated.

Good luck all,
